Foam for pontoon

Q:”My sister has a fibreglass pontoon on a creek near Condobolin which is leaking. Was wondering if it would be possible to pump it out as much as possible and fill with your product without removing the pontoon from the water. There is a 1 sq ft inspection hatch.”

A:I don’t think the foam will provide you with the solution you are after. Firstly, the pontoon would need to be completely dry before injecting with foam and secondly, the foam is not meant to be a long term means for stopping water from filling a pontoon. It is used as a secondary flotation device in the event of a pontoon being ruptured/leaking. If the leak was fixed then the foam could be used without removing the pontoon.
